CARLOS
TRIANA
Carlos is first and foremost an avid aviation enthusiast who is always keen to engage others in a discussion about his favourite subjects: airplanes, airlines and flying, in English, French or Spanish. Carlos Triana currently holds the position of Product Manager in the Airline Operations and Communications Division of SITA. In his current role, he is responsible for developing and implementing revenue generating strategies associated with bundling key elements of SITA’s vast array of solutions to help airline customers increase operational efficiency and profitability. Since 2003, Carlos has also been an instructor with the Montreal-based Airline Revenue Management Training Group and the IATA Training & Development Institute. He has taught Airline Revenue Management courses to participants from international and regional airlines all over the world. Before SITA, Carlos worked as Associate Product Planning Manager in the Business Aircraft Division of Bombardier Aerospace, the third largest aircraft manufacturer in the world. At Bombardier, he was responsible for launching and marketing the Challenger 800 family of executive aircraft and corporate shuttles. Prior to joining Bombardier, Carlos worked for Air Canada’s Marketing and Network Management Department, where he managed the revenue and flight capacity of key connecting and leisure routes in the fiercely competitive US-Canada transborder markets. In this role, he was responsible for forecasting passenger demand and devising seat allocation and pricing strategies to address the prevailing economic conditions and to match competitive actions from domestic and international carriers. He also worked for Air Canada’s Technical Services subsidiary where he oversaw fleet introduction and retirement projects as well as aircraft modernization programs. He participated in the company’s task force responsible for managing the integration of Canadian Airlines and Air Canada’s operations. Throughout his various positions, Carlos has participated in numerous industry activities, and he has chaired various international industry subcommittees and working groups. After completing his undergraduate studies, Carlos worked for the Airworthiness and Certification Division of Transport Canada –Canada’s Civil Aviation Authority, where he liased with airlines, aircraft owners, private operators and manufacturers who sought regulatory approvals for fleet modifications and enhancements. Carlos holds an MBA from McGill University in Montreal, a Masters in Aerospace Engineering (MEng) from l’Ecole Polytechnique (Montreal) and a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. |
